Equity Release Plans

  • Home reversion plans

A home reversion plan allows clients to release cash from their property by selling a portion of their home's value. The client can live in the property rent-free and the plan is repaid upon their death or admission into long-term care.
  • Lifetime mortgage

Lifetime mortgages allow clients to release tax-free cash from their property.  A loan is secured against your client’s home, but typically without monthly repayments. Compound interest is added throughout the lifetime of the loan, but is only paid back when the client passes away or moves into long-term care.

  • Drawdown plans

Drawdown plans work in a similar way to standard lifetime mortgages, but with the flexibility to 'drawdown' cash as and when clients want to. The interest is only added as and when the amounts are released, so clients could pay less interest over the course of the loan.

  • Enhanced plans

Your clients could be entitled to a higher LTV if they have specific health conditions or if they have made certain lifestyle choices. Our expert advisers will ask during your client’s first appointment if they have any common illnesses such as diabetes, heart conditions or if they smoke, which could qualify them for an enhanced plan.

  • Payment plans

There are plans that allow clients to pay some or all of the interest or repay some of the capital. This could substantially reduce the amount that is owed when the plan is repaid.

  • Protected plans

With some lifetime mortgages, it is possible to protect a percentage of the property's future value to leave behind as an inheritance, giving your clients peace of mind in knowing their beneficiaries will be taken care of.
